Established in 2017, Paradise Works is an artist-led studio community of 40+ contemporary visual artists, a project space and gallery in Salford. We host a critically engaged programme of exhibitions and film screenings, showcasing works from new and established artists working nationally & internationally. Paradise Works is host to Division of Labour gallery Salford, and our annual open studios, public projects, residency programme and graduate awards support artists to share their work with people who live, work, or visit the city.
This year Paradise Works will be presenting Finger; a booth-based
exploration of gesture, haptic touch, pointing, translational mark making and trace. 6 artists explore gesture and trace through works that emphasize the labour-intensive physicality of making whilst acknowledging the temporality of the artist’s mark.
The works also explore and explode ideas around the mark left by the viewer, collected public gesture, making marks to transfer meaning and audience activation.
