Lucy Bevin is a graduate of Liverpool Art College and UCA Farnham and has a background in Film and TV Design. Bevin’s practice incorporates sculpture, film, drawing and installation - aspects of which employ the use of scale models. The scale model has enabled Bevin to create both a real or imagined space allowing her to blur the boundaries between the familiar and the unfamiliar which is a central theme running through her work. This narrative is found in her exploration of subject and object within the framework of home and memory, her sculptural work fuses elements of domestic architecture and cherished possessions with corporeal forms. Her drawings and collaged paintings presented on distressed surfaces operate as “subtitles” to the other areas of her practice and form part of her ongoing research into the home and memory.
