A dance work in response to Horace Lindezey’s spoken word work They built the flats in ’69, detailing Horace’s experiences growing up in Hulme, which was commissioned by Castlefield Gallery in 2022. Venture Arts then partnered with Taupunkt e.V., Chemnitz, Germany inviting a collaboration with contemporary dancer Rafal Dziemidok and musician, Daniel Hendrickson. Backtracks is a dance of an eroded past, moving and navigating the world with scraps of forgotten music left only in the ear. Both the body and the vinyl existing as an archive of facts, fantasies, curses and blessings. This work was selected to show at Venice Biennale 2024 by Proforma and Pas-E.
